Unit 8: Gothic Art and Jesus Christ

            The Gothic style is originated in the Paris region.  Dominated by European art and architecture for many years from now.  In the mid twelfth century, technology increases and new intellectual begins to develop new art and architecture that expressed the religious and political.  Gothic churches became the most glorious houses of god.  They were also glowing manifestations of Christian doctrine.  Also they were encouraging worshipers to follow the windows of Gothic churches.

Unit 7: Art of the Americas

            Compared to the densely inhabited agricultural regions of Meso-america and South America.  Most of the northern America remained populated.  Early people lived by hunting, fishing and gathering.  Vessels were made in the shapes of naturalistically style human beings, animal and architectural structure.  Moche metal smiths, is the most sophisticated in central Andes.

Unit 6: Chines Art and Buddha

            Buddhism originated in India during the fifth century BCE.  Han dynasty influence reached china.  The Chinese of the six dynasties and social devastation, Buddhism offered consolation and the promise of salvation after death.  The caves and the sculptures that fill the chines art and Buddha were carved from the solid rock of the cliffs.

Unit 5: Indian Art and Shiva

            Shiva is the lord dance for Hindus.  The dancing Shiva was introduced and promoted through the efforts of one woman which is Queen Sembiyan Mahadevi.  She was a major patron of temple building and bronze casting.  Her project was to involved increase of Shiva Nataraja, which was not unusual for Hindu royal families.  The Shiva dances signify the universe cycle of death and rebirth.
